Thompson Brothers take over Lacrosse
Meet the Thompson Brothers: Lyle, Jeremy, Jerome Jr. and Miles.
The four family members have been playing lacrosse since they were able to walk, and are now proudly representing the Onondaga Nation on the Iroquois Nationals lacrosse team.
Their father has been training them since they were young to think outside the box when playing, and has instilled those quick-thinking tactics to help them reach the World Lacrosse Championships in Denver in 2014 and win the bronze medal.
Although the brothers will be competing to try to win first place, they are playing for a much greater purpose.
“It’s for medicine; it’s for my community,” Lyle says. “The game is part of our religion.”
The Brothers will have another chance to place this fall when the World Indoor Lacrosse Championships take place in The Six Nations, the first time the event will take place on Native American Lands.
