Lucky Number 13

The premiere of Converse's Rubber Track studios Global takeover

As an up and coming musician, can you imagine being invited to a professional recording studio in Brooklyn, NY with access to anything and everything you need to record a couple of songs for your next album?

Did you wake up yet? Fine, what if we add Mike D from the Beastie Boys (for those of you who didn’t know), as your mentor to help you write and produce your session.. What if we aren’t describe a dream at all, what if this is just the beginning of the story that Canada’s very own hip hop group, The Lytics, embarked on this fall.

The day has finally come and we’re pleased to premiere the mixed and mastered results of those two crazy days. A playlist featuring the tracks that were recorded throughout the Converse Rubber Tracks global studio takeover was launched today. Artists from over 25 countries were taken into iconic studios around the world, each of them producing their original music (13 of them are featured on the playlist), including Legendary by The Lytics.

WRG was lucky enough to tag along on the trip to Converse’s Brooklyn Rubber Tracks Studio. We captured The Lytics’ creative process, the moment the group met Mike D for the first time and the grueling hours of putting in hard work in the studio. The enthusiasm for the music and passion with which The Lytics executed their studio time was contagious, see for yourselves in our two part video report.
