Ultra Week Miami Anticipation

In two days, I say au revoir to cold Montreal and hola to sunny Miami for my annual March trip down there for all things electronic music.  A whole slew of my friends from all over the world will be in town such as my international party partner in crime Miss Pererica, my 2010 Miami roomie WANARB’s Haz Mat, NYC’s Electro Queen eleKtroMess and WRG?’s own, Doctor Klein!

If you’re heading to Miami and not sure what to do or want to live vicariously through us, I share with you the parties and events in Miami that aren’t to be missed!

Wednesday March 23rd-

The Bullitt Mixer at Cameo:  Every March, Washington, DC / Barcelona-based agency Bullitt Bookings throws a party that features some of the best people they represent bringing tag team sets you won’t find anywhere else.  Since it’s such a mix of artists, the sound is going to jump through all electronic genres.  This is going to be an interesting party.  Expect to see-  Arno Cost, Audiofly, Boris M.D., Carlo Lio, Circoloco, Danny Howells, Darren Emerson, Dave Clarke, Davide Squillace, Delete, Don Diable, Dubfire, Gel Abril, Idris Elba, Jonathan Peters, Joris Voorn, Luca Bacchetti, Matthias Tanzmann, Miss Nine, Nic Fanciulli, Norman Doray, Satoshi Tomii, Sebastien Leger, Serge Devant, Shlomi Aber, Steve Duda, Sultan, Tatiana Fontes, Tiefschwarz, Tom Novy and Umek’.  Get tickets HERE!

Laidback Luke presents Super You & Me at LIV: Another March annual, brought by DJ/Producer Laidback Luke.  Fantasy superhero costumes are highly recommended making this a very unique party .  I’ve never heard of a costumed theme party during this time and I’m kinda interested to see what this is going to be like. Sets by Skrillex, Sidney Samson, Congorock, Sandro Silva and very special guest Wynter Gordon.  Get tickets HERE!

Thursday March 24th-

Sharam’s Speed Album Release Party at SET: Another year, another Sharam album release.  Last year we attended the release party for  ‘Mach’ and it was a blast.  Visuals of car engines and parts and dancers in checkered print leotards stayed in theme with the racing inspired sound.   I look forward to what he’s going to bring to us this year with his newest album ‘Speed’.  Get tickets HERE!

HARD Miami at Grand Central: If you’re looking for a hip and happening dance party, HARD parties never disappoint.  Last year they had an outdoor pool party which was one of my favorite parties of the week.  Party to some of the hottest acts at the moment in my opinion.  Sets by Brodinski, Destructo, Diplo, DJ Mehdi, Mumbai Science, Sebastian, Tiga and  Tinie Tempah.  Get tickets HERE!

Friday March 25th-

Pete Tong’s Pool Party at Surfcomber: For the last 20 years on BBC Radio1, Pete Tong has hosted one of the most well respected music shows.  In celebration of his radio show, he throws down one of the best pool parties of March.  To be interviewed or have your track featured on his show is an honor and if you’re semi-undiscovered, a major boost for you career.  His parties always feature the best of the best with suprise sets by some of the greats.  Sets by Richie Hawtin, Luciano, Joris Voorn, Sharam, Riva Star, James Zabiela, Sleepy & Boo and of course the legendary Pete Tong.  Get tickets HERE!

Saturday March 26th-

Positronic Yacht Party w/ James Zabiela, Josh Wink & Magda at Biscayne Lady: Party on a yacht that’s cruising around the beautiful Miami waters while dancing to the music of some of the best DJ/Producers?  Yes please.  With a $135 price tag, this party is a little pricer than others, but the open bar more than makes up for it.  Buy tickets HERE!

Calvin Harris & Funkagenda at SET: This party is sold out, guaranteeing it to be an amazing one.  I’ve never been disappointed by a set or a track by either of these guys and I can’t help but love how their Twitter game is on lock too.  Only thing left are table reservations HERE!

Bag Raiders (live), CLASSIXX & DCUP at Bardot: Without a doubt, these guys have been some of our favorite producers in the past year or so.  We’ve met and had the opportunity to interview CLASSIXX & DCUP making us love them more.  Also, a live show by Bag Raiders… need we say more?  Buy tickets HERE!

Get Lost at Electric Pickle:  This venue is known for having some of the best and most interesting music.  Nothing commercial, always unique.  Check out sets by Clive Henry, Dan Ghencia, Damian Lazarus, Deniz Kurtel (LIVE), Craig Richards, Droog, Dyed Soundorom, Guti & Dubshape, Jamie Jones, jozif, Konrad Black, Lee Foss, Maceo Plex (LIVE), Matt Tolfrey, Mr C, Richy Ahmed, Robert James, Russ Yallop, Solomun, Soul Clap and Subb-an (LIVE).  Pre-sale tickets are sold-out, but there will be some available at the door.

Sunday March 27th-

This Is Sander Kleinenberg at Shelbourne South Miami Beach Resort: Like last year, we’re going to close the week out with this party.  Music and visuals were top rate like any Kleinenberg party is.  Also enjoy sets by Pleasurekraft & Rene Amesz.  Buy tickets HERE!

Sunday School: The Lost Weekend at Ice Palace: One of the craziest parties is that thrown by ‘Sunday School’.  36 hours of partying with 24 being nonstop.  Enter Saturday night and leave and come back for Sunday or be craaazy and stay the whole time.  Music by too many people to list.  See event info and get tickets HERE!

And of course, I can’t ignore the massive festival that this entire week is named after, Ultra Fest.  The line-up is amazing but sadly, the tickets are sold out.  Check is out HERE!

On that note, I’m going to pop some more cold pills and hope I can shake this in the next couple days.  If you’re an artist or represent them and you’re interested in having us interview them or cover your event for WRG?, email me at [email protected].

See the fun I had last year here!
