Models & Holograms

Gareth Pugh did it for his S/S 11 show – a video that wasn’t 3D, but so trippy it almost felt that way. Then Ralph Lauren projected a ‘4D’ fashion show onto the new flagship Ralph Lauren store in New York City and London.

No one, however, has done a whole show quite like this.

(Alexander Mcqueen did it for part of a show though.)

German haute couture designer, Stephen Eckert, flipped the bird to 3D and 4D – he went holographic. For his last show, the designer teamed up with visual artist Tim Jockel and director Florian Sigl to put on a full-length fashion show comprised completely of holograms. Models were filmed with high-speed cameras with post-production involving 3D motion graphics and compositing – and voila – it’s the future.
