Unlocking the keys to confidence
Our editor's pick out our favorite tools to help promote condfidence of the mind and body.
How often in our hectic lives do we take the time to do something for ourselves? Whether it’s a moment of reflection, a moment of solitude, or a moment of actually living in the moment, it’s all too rare these days, but it is still so very worthwhile to pause and allow ourselves to catch up to the daily motions with which we lead our cruise-controlled lives.
What we realized is that confidence doesn’t stem from the motivational quote at the bottom of a generic poster, nor is it something that can be automatically built through a new wardrobe. Where true confidence stems from is being content with who you are as a person.
Fresh breathe:
An immediate confidence booster. It’s the easiest boost you can give yourself and the effects are immediate. If you’ve got terrible breathe, getting people to listen what you have to say will be more challenging. This is about the little advantages you can give yourself, always pack some mints or gum.
A journal:
Writing out your thoughts will help you clear your mind, and clear heads make better decisions and helps to reduce bad stress. A personal journal can help you better organize your thoughts and address them most constructively.
A book:
Reading is a great tool to learn and gain knowledge. Fiction or non-fiction, scientific studies to daily news, reading has endless benefits. Feel like reading about human psychology and personal confidence, there are endless amounts of information to help you along the way.
Technology:
The smartphone-era has allowed developers to create an insane amount of tools to help you in all aspects of your life. Want to improve your diet? Need help finding calm? Looking for a little motivation to get out and exercise? There are apps to help you achieve your goals, no matter what part of your confidence you’re seeking to boost.
Vitamins and nutrients:
A fast paced society and scarce agricultural knowledge and resources can lead us to making poor choices for our diets and many people lack essential vitamins and nutrients. While the effects will vary per person, covering your essential vitamins and nutrients have not surprisingly far more of an upside than down.
Exercise:
Multiple benefits are harnessed through exercise. Your body is such a highly interconnected tool, a walk or a workout activates your brain as well as your body. Increased endorphins, linking gray matter, and the obviously burning fat cells. Like every other element, exercise remains only one factor, however, when combined the effects multiply exponentially.
So, how does one get their mind and body to a point of feeling confident? It’s not necessarily about being the most expensively dressed or about continuously meditating to elevate your chakras. We’ve listed only a few small tools we hope will help you feel confident both in your public presentation as well as in your innermost being. Let us know what you think. What tips or advice do you use to help promote confidence? We’d love to hear your thoughts, tweet us, or leave a comment on our facebook fan page.
