What’s the first thing that draws you in when you walk by a restaurant? Before the menu, the decor, the staff? It’s the facade. Great restaurants have a way of looking amazing before you even walk in the door, and that’s because the best restaurateurs spend as many gruelling hours deciding on the perfect “face to the world” for their culinary ventures as they do choosing the right team to bring their menus to life.

This passion was the inspiration for our latest shoot. Five restaurants, five signature dishes, and five head-to-toe looks to match. Our photo editorial ties together food, fashion, architecture and photography to reveal what drives some of Montreal’s iconic eateries.

Our models posed in front of the restaurants, signature dish in-hand, wearing an outfit that perfectly matched each one’s façade and vibe – from the color, texture, and shape of their unique exteriors to the enduring menus that give them staying power. The result is a beautiful (and greasy) marriage of food and fashion.
