A lot goes on between our issues. When we’re not putting one together we’re often collaborating on a variety of partnerships to bring you a social or experiential component to your lives. Here is a run down of some of our biggest events since the Sustainability Issue, meet our summer Community GOODs.
June – WRGTourdeFood
As soon as WRG landed in Toronto for our TourdeFood, it was on! For 24hrs straight we ate, and ate, and ate some more. Our gracious partner, Volkswagen, equipped us with the new 2015 Beetle which both literally and figuratively became the vehicle for our non-stop eating adventure. We met up with some of Toronto’s most notable movers and shakers, who brought us to all parts of the city to enjoy the best grub in town. Throughout the Tour, we documented every delicious bite, learned about some of Toronto’s amazing new places to eat, and got some great insight from our guests on what makes each of these venues so special (while obviously getting the inside scoop on the best things to order).
July – Perrier Party
We partnered up with Community Agency in Toronto to help curate a guest-list for this summer’s hottest event, the Perrier Pop-Up Party. The celebration took place over two nights, each delivering an experience that made us nostalgic for the glory days of our youth. Perrier took the liberty of completely transforming Montreal’s Parisian Laundry into an adult playground, complete with a fully stocked candy bar, pinball machines, and the entire cast of old-school arcade games – by the way, Pac-Man has never looked so good. Astroturf-covered floors and green lighting shining set the Perrier-happy vibe from the moment people walked in the room. A notable highlight was the collection of pre-made mixed drinks served in Perrier bottles. No line up, no mess. Kudos to Perrier for a wonderful evening.
July – Capsule Dinner
On July 16th, 2014 we co-hosted a dinner at Maison Publique with Capsule trade show. The premise of the evening was to bring together the Montreal retailers we feel are doing the best job of curating a fashion culture both in our city and in the rest of Canada. It was an opportunity for attendees to discuss fashion and learn more about one another in a casual environment far from the hustle bustle of trade shows, fashion week, some of the other formal events out there. The evening was a great success, sparking up some riveting conversations, strengthening ties in the community, and promoting debate that was at once educational, inspiring, entertaining and provocative, and served as a reminder that retail buyers are about more than just shopping.
