Community GOODs

A lot goes on between our issues.

When we’re not putting them together we’re often collaborating on a variety of partnerships to bring you a social or experiential component to your lives. Here is a run down of some of our biggest events since the winter issue, meet our Community GOODs.

May – Nike Football Global Innovation Summit

Kicking off the hype for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil this summer, Nike held their Global Football Innovation Summit in Madrid, where they had Portuguese forward Cristiano Ronaldo unveil the Mercurial Superfly, Nike’s newest revolution in football footwear, as well as their entire World Cup collection. From team kits, featuring a record-setting 10 teams, to off-pitch extensions from Nike brands Hurley and Jordan. Focusing efforts and dollars on innovation instead FIFA sponsorship fees keeps the swoosh in nearly every football-related conversation during the tournament.

April – YellowART

Celebrating the French spirit of ‘joie de vivre’ and a shared love of the arts, Veuve Clicquot, in collaboration with LACOSTE and WRG, played host to an intimate crowd at the retailer’s flagship boutique to celebrate YellowART, the champagne maker’s annual, exclusive artistic experience featuring a collaborative live installation by pop artists TAVA and Julien Deragon.

February – WRG Gentlemen’s Classic Hockey Invitational

The national pastime and pride of Canadians home and abroad, the sport of hockey is written into our DNA. Outdoor or pond hockey is the mecca, the most authentic and pure, a true sign of dedication and love for the sport. Enduring mother nature’s temper tantrums ranging from bitter cold to oh so mild days can call for versatility in garb, most often taking the form of sweatpants, team jerseys and, of course, tuques.

With the visual from The Hockey Sweater firmly implanted in your mind, it’s easy to envision elevating the style quotient of the game. In true WRG fashion, no pun intended, and drawing inspiration from our winter issue cover story, we invited our passionate friends to lace up in style for our inaugural Gentlemen’s Invitational Hockey Classic.
