How brands are marketing back-to-school online

One of the most exciting things about going back to school is showing off your new style. The majority of people always feel a bit nervous, excited, and anxious to start off their first week of school, but when you have a new outfit and a brand-new style to strut around campus, the worries are gone and your confidence is on.

Find Inspiration and Create a Rockstar Look

Back to school style comes around a time where summer days are fading away but it’s not quite time to ditch the shorts. So how can we be inspired to throw on a pair of sneakers and shorts and still remain stylish? Just head over to your favorite social media outlet and you will immediately be inspired. Fashion brands, particularly high-street fashion brands, have taken advantage of these channels and are taking inspiration from their own consumers. Forever 21 took the lead by creating a website exclusively for fans and followers to get inspired. The brand launched an Instagram and Twitter campaign that was inspired by the hashtag #F21xMe. The campaign encouraged consumers to upload a photo of themselves wearing Forever 21 on Instagram, followed by a Tweet and hashtag with #F21xMe. Once the photo is live, the fan has a chance to be uploaded on the brand’s blog, a blog fully dedicated to the street-style inspiration from their fans. Global fans can start taking inspiration about how to pair those shorts with a fab hoodie to create a rockstar look when they hit the books.
