While I was away…

So my dual life, has led me far and wide recently, but unfortunately not to Top Hat & Cravat in recent weeks. For that, I am sorry. With that said – I, like everyone else was able to find an internet connection to watch Erykah walking down the street naked. But that, dear friends, is neither her nor there. At any rate – here are some of the things that I discovered on my recent travels.

Hudson Mohawke: To me, the kid from Glasgow sounds like the bastard lovechild of Timbaland, Flying Lotus and Just Blaze. He was apparently approached by Rihanna’s people at one point about the song below, but the collabo was nixed. His album ‘Butter’ is already earmarked as the Summer soundtrack.

Hudson Mohawke – Fuse.

Fables: Ever wondered what happened to all the characters from the stories you were read as a kid. If like most normal people, you haven’t, then jog on. If you have – Have Vertigo got the book for you. Join the likes of Snow White, Old King Cole and Jack (The Beanstalk guy, but he’s also a bunch of other Jacks too – you’ll have to read it) as they live out their lives in The Big Apple

Fables

Black Panther: The Animated Series – Marvel released this series iin Australia at the end of last year, puzzling everybody outside Australia. Following the storyline from Reggie Hudlin and John Romita Jr’s work on Volume 4, the voice cast features Djimon Honsou, Jill Scott and Kerry Washington. It appears that the recession hit even the House Of Ideas, as Stan and the boys opted out of having the series drawn from scratch and instead animated JRJR’s art, which gives the show an old skool Saturday morning cartoon feel. No complaints here.
