What will you be growing this Movember?

Once again November is here and men (and some boys) are growing out their whiskers to raise awareness and money for prostate cancer research. In the spirit of Movember we have highlighted five easy moustache styles and tips on achieving them.

THE CHEVRON

More commonly known as Tom Selleck’s source of power, this style of moustache is easily accomplished. The chevron shape is achieved naturally and should end at the corner of your lips.

Tip: Comb the moustache towards the lips and trim the ends following your upper lip, this will give you a more clean finish and enhance the chevron shape.

THE COWBOY

Similar to the chevron, the cowboy is easy to attain and ends at the corners of your lips. Unlike the chevron, the cowboy is not groomed by following the lip line; rather you want to attain a more triangular shape.

Tip: Trim your moustache in a triangle shape while your mouth is closed and without expression, this will allow you to get a straight finish along the bottom of your stash.

THE HORSESHOE

The horseshoe moustache tends to make people look like they have dabbled in vintage skin flicks, but in the spirit of Movember, why not try one out? The horseshoe requires a more developed beard as it creates a U shaped moustache around the lip and down to the jaw line.

Tip: Trim the bow around your mouth by following your top lip. While styling, work a small amount of moustache wax or bee’s wax into your finger tips and work it through your stash to keep the crinkled hairs down.

THE HANDLEBAR

Although many men will not be able to achieve this moustache by the end of the month, it could become an interesting look if you plan on keeping your whiskers. This style requires a courser moustache and considerable amounts of product.

Tip: when grooming be sure to lift the wings to shave/trim underneath and remember to make sure both wings are the same length. Use moustache wax or bee’s wax to smooth out the hair and allow you to twist in a curl.

THE PENCIL

This style has many variants and can be done easily and does not require much man-fur to accomplish. All you really need is enough manhood to produce a thin stach above your upper lip.

Tip: Use a straight razor to shave any excess hair above the moustache; use conditioner or moisturizer to avoid and irritation.

Have fun this Movember and try out one of these moustache styles for yourself! Check out the Movember website (http://ca.movember.com/) for more information about how you could help raise awareness and money for prostate cancer research.
