Taco Tuesday: Apple and Gorgonzola Crostini Recipe

 

So we’ve come to the end of Apple Week and hopefully you’ve found tons of fun things to do with that 20lb bag of apples you picked this year. Here’s one more super easy recipe for a quick appetizer that is perfect for a cocktail party or even as a precursor to your thanksgiving meal. The flavour profile is one of our favs, you just cannot go wrong with this crowd pleaser.

This dish is as simple as it gets. Therefore, focus your attention on buying the best quality ingredients. Let your apples shine!

 

 

Apple and Gorgonzola Crostini

Makes 10 pieces

Ingredients:

1 loaf of walnut bread (or baguette), sliced
3 tbsp Gorgonzola cheese
1 tbsp butter
1-2 MacIntosh apples
1 tbsp honey
Salt, pepper to taste

Method:

- Toast bread
- Cream Gorgonzola and butter until fluffy and smooth, season with salt and pepper
- Slice apples in thin rounds
- Assemble the crostini: toast, spread, top with apples
- Drizzle with honey
