Once again the world watches as New York City’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion week showcases the best in American fashion. Every season fashion lovers around the world watch for the freshest new trends from their favourite designers. We have compiled a few of the trends that are emerging from the ongoing fashion shows.
PRETTY PASTELS
Soft pinks, light mints, canary yellows and whites were on several catwalks; a sharp contrast to last year’s boldly coloured collections. Many designers opted for girly silhouettes, light fabrics and soft colours instead of the bold colours that have been seen for the past couple of seasons.

GLADIATOR SANDALS
The gladiator sandal is a favourite for many in summer and many variations of the shoe have been seen over the last couple of years. This season many designers are showing a softer version of the shoe.

MIXED PRINTS
Patterned suits and mismatched garments were shown on many of the world’s runways during fall fashion weeks. For Spring/Summer 2013 the textiles are lighter but the same mismatched feel is achieved.

SPORTY CHIC
The summer Olympics influenced many industries including the fashion industry. Many designers presented their interpretation of ‘sporty’ clothing by playing around with traditional ideas of active-wear. This trend is sure to be seen on runways worldwide in the coming weeks.
