Located in Toronto’s Little Portugal Village and just steps from Trinity Bellwoods park, this gem is perfectly located for a picturesque intimate brunch.
The one and a half story restaurant houses nine tables of two and one bench seating four. The dinning room and coffee counter are all framed in a large north facing window. The atmosphere is charmingly urban-bohemian with fusion-homstyle food served on an array of mismatched ceramics to a table with different chairs.
The coffee bar serves the basic coffees and teas and a selection of muffins and cookies. Chai lattes and Vietnamese style iced coffee are also available, Drinks range from $2.50 – $3.75. At the coffee bar muffins and baked goods range from $2.00 – $2.50 and sausages for $4.00.
The brunch menu includes a daily soup, selection of salads, hot and cold sandwiches and egg based breakfast dished, price range $6.00 – $8.00. The exceptional treats are always posted on the daily chalkboard and include corn cakes, a variety of chutney sauces, and decadently sweet french toast or waffles, priced $8.50 – $10.00. The flavors are indescribably harmonious, like a sweet-sing-song in your mouth.
Expect a long worthwhile wait during weekends for a table and do not come in groups larger than two. Weekday lunch rush is still quite busy but it is not impossible to get a timely table. Two benches are placed outside of the front doors to accommodate the patient (and smokers).
