Osheaga 2010 – Day 1

It’s hard to believe Osheaga has only been around for four years. 70, 000 fans and a slew of local and international talent later, it’s clear that there’s nothing quite like an outdoor music festival to bring people together. WRG? was out in full force on Saturday, the first of two days the crew will spend on the grounds, capturing the fashion, the faces, the fun in the sun… and of course, the music.

Aside from the clouds of dust, a forgivable byproduct of the fest, it was good times all around. The sun was shinning, festival goers were out in style and the performers seemed to be having a blast.

Some of the days highlights include a seriously enthusiastic show by the lovely brit Dan Black, a mad search for Roska (the added stage through us off just a bit,) K’NAAN’s second, but nonetheless heartfelt visit to the festival, a beautifully personal performance by The Unsettlers and of course the headliners of the night, Arcade Fire. Sweedish queen of all things pop, Robyn was also performing and while technical difficulties pushed the show back nearly an hour, once she made her way to the stage she killed it with an energized performance that didn’t dissapoint.

Live vicariously through us by clicking through the gallery and be sure to check back tomorrow for a rundown of day 2 of the fest, and later in the week to see who we caught up with backstage.

An overview of festival fashions complete with style snaps is still to come, along with some of the best festival moments we caught on video. Stay tuned.
