One to Watch: Anne Dardick of Dot & Lil Bathsoaps
After a happy freshly shaven father’s day at Dot & Lil‘s studio, WRG went back for the brand’s fall collection launch, hosted by the beautiful creator Anne Dardick.
It seems that simplicity is the motto for beauty products these days, and Dot & Lil‘s apothecary style bath and body products are no exception. Using a strict minimum of well-chosen ingredients and steering clear of any water, Dot & Lil can boast not having a single preservative in any of their products. The scents are also all natural.
My personal favorite this season is Sugar and Spice, available in “a piece of cake” style soap bar and as a luxurious body butter. While the line remains faithful to the vintage-modern spirit so cherished by Anne, the scrubs, shower lotions and “Petit Oiseau” soaps you’ve come to know and love now come in an all new packaging as well.
As usual, Dot & Lil has also got a few gift ideas up its sleeve. There are no rotten apples in the “Apple for the Teacher” soap, which will be sure to get any kid good grades, (for a semester at least!) As for me, I will be bringing along a few kits of this Montreal based Vintage soap line with me on my upcoming trip to France. A tasteful last minute gift, with a hint of cheese.
Last but not least, the first ever facial care product by Dot & Lil saw the light of day with this new collection. Upon discovering this new addition, it dawned on me that I may never have to use greasy facial cream ever again! Made with olive squalane and retinol rich rosehip seed oil, it’s got all the vitamins (A, B and E) that you could ever need. Wearable under make-up, or on its own.
Oh, and by the way, a special thanks to Anne’s mom who baked the delicious french sweets and pink lemonade being served at the event. We enjoyed more than our fair share!
