NYC Week: Eva NY
Nustled away in New York City’s East Village, Eva NY is a hub for everything non-mainstream, the store is host to daring designers who thrive to be unconventional. An aura that is carried along by its owner, Stephanie Pappas, who’s personal style is reflected in the mishmash of European and local designers she brings into the store.
The most outstanding part of the space was it’s versatility. To learn that it was originally a Deli was, to say the least, a shock. It has the ability to take on whatever persona it needs to, whether it’s displaying clothing or artwork or hosting social events. The clean solid colors allow the focus to remain where need be.
We were pointed towards this store by our good friend Erin Wahed, who is the designer behind Bande Des Quatres. Her line can be found behind the glass counter top at the register and definitely fits the general vibe of Stephanie Pappas’s post-Nolita refuge. Other designers include, Bedford Street Laundry, Collina Strada, Diana Orving, Hache, Henrik Vibskov, Juma, Katie Gallagher, Mandy Coon, Moyna Prose, Rodebjer, Silent by Damir Doma, Society for Rational Dress, Stylein, The Twenty Ten, and Them Atelier.
We sat down with Stephanie and even got a quick peek into her summer favorites. Check out the video and more importantly head down to EVA and check out her store for yourself.
