During NXNE its very hard to see the forest for the trees. Reach-around line ups, 10 deep bar lines, heard-it-all door men, walls of DSLR cameras blocking your well deserved front row view, self proclaimed journalists bypassing you in line, bands that make you feel bad that you never heard of them, looming disappointment that you are bound to miss at least one “before they were big” show, and longing for valet bike parking. It takes a whole block corner to be packed with devoted music lovers to see that the forest is magnificently huge. It’s the mayhem that makes the music. NXNE would not be the same without the hustle and bustle, the crowd brings the ruckus. Over 600 bands playing in over 40 venues around Toronto and then it all comes down to the clan, the Wu Tang Clan.
