Another major product announced today is the Nike+ Fuelband. The #makeitcount campaign has culminated in the release of this Nike+ wristband, which uses an accelerometer to track calories burned and steps taken. 120 LED lights display the information and the whole thing is wrapped in a sleek little plastic package.

Because it’s a Nike+ product, there are also a tracking component and a social networking component; daily goals can be set and progress tracked over extended periods of time, and there’s a community to interact with for feedback and sharing. The Fuelband can also be paired with the smartphone app for those benefits on the go. It will be available in limited quantities for preorder at the Nike online store at 5PM EST.
