With Osheaga coming around the corner, next week will be packed full of more music than you can handle. We’re resting up this week in preparation. These aren’t all brand new but there are all balling tracks, rave on.
Lupe Fiasco – Daydreamin’ F. Jill Scott. Released in 2006, this song is old soul mixed with Lupe’s smooth delivery. Sampled from I Monster’s ‘Daydream in Blue’ (see below), the song is a critique on present day pop culture and the state of hip hop.
Hujje just released their summer bootleg pack! I really like Space Hertz, a Quad City DJs ‘Space Jam’ mashup!! My inner child is glowing with happiness. Their remix of Ken Loi’s ‘All That It Takes’ features gorgeous vocals and very Avicii-ish sounds, yet still managing to differentiate itself. Zodiac Milkshake is pretty cool – I LOVE Jochen Miller’s ‘Zodiac’ so I am very partial to this. I think that they did a great job of mashing Zodiac with Kelis’ ‘Milkshake’. Give It Up For Teenage Crime is such a happy song, you just want to stand up and get your dance on. I first heard Teenage Crime last summer when I was in Italy and I just have listened to it on repeat 20 thousand times. Seamless transition between Teenage Crime and EDX’s Give It Up For Love.
