Leon’s Uses Discarded Furniture to their Advantage

If you’re like most Montrealers, then you’ve probably procured at least one of your pieces of furniture for your apartment from the curbside after moving day.

Well, if you were roaming the streets during Montreal’s biggest moving day (July 1st), you may have noticed Leon’s clever marketing campaign around those belongings that were seemingly so easily cast aside.

In an attempt to reach out to a younger demographic of Quebecois, Leon’s and their new agency, Taxi 2, took to the streets and surrounded resident’s discarded furniture with big coupon cut-outs. The signs advertised that if you took a photo of the furniture and share it online, it would be redeemable for discounts when purchasing new furniture from the store.

The successful activation resulted in a 30% rise in sales for Leon’s in the two weeks following the campaign, as well as boosting their Quebec sales status.

Just another example of creative marketing from a smaller agency.
