Montreal, November 30 – Proudly celebrating its 5th season, Igloofest returns to the Quays of the Old Port of Montreal to deploy its ephemeral igloo kingdom during the final three weekends of January 2011. Under the stars and right in the heart of winter, Igloofest gathers the best artists from the local and international electronic music scene for a very unique festival. It’s the perfect occasion for visitors from everywhere to reclaim this breathtaking site overlooking the St-Lawrence River and rediscover the pleasures of winter in the city. Presented in collaboration with Solotech and with the support of Tourisme Québec and Tourisme Montréal, the event is sure to raise the temperature for nine unforgettable evenings: Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, January 13-14-15, 20-21-22 and 27-28-29.

Exceptional growth suits an exceptional event
Set against a backdrop of ice and steel, Igloofest’s progressive video and architectural scenography, keenly-designed Sleeman Light Igloo Village and the famous one-piece ski suit competition complete the operation to make this event one of the trendiest in the city and most noticed in Canada. This unique, hyper “Montréal” phenomenon is a daring project that has seen its success multiply tenfold in only four years, bringing together nearly 45,000 people in 2010 up from 4,000 in its first edition. A musical program combining revered artists and new surprises When you feel a chill run down your spine, remember that nothing will warm you up better than shaking it off with a festive crowd in front of a great electronic music show. A magical and electrifying world
The Igloofest stage actually covers only a third of this spacious site which has been completely transformed by a team of specialists. Designers Melissa Mongiat and Mouna Andraos, whose works are widely recognized internationally, have been given carte blanche to reinvent the concept of the Sleeman Light Igloo Village. Meanwhile, projection artists such as Baillat Cardell & Sons, Futil and Gridspace, among others, will be presenting their visuals all over the site’s icy structures. Combined, these creative wonders call for an exhilarating and interactive experience surrounded by ice sculptures which light up in a panorama of shapes and colours. This environment will win the hearts of the tens of thousands of people expected to attend.

• Admission is $10 (+tx&sc) for all shows, and tickets are available through the
igloofest.ca site or onsite. No re-admission after 10pm.

Prices are $40 (+tx&sc) before Christmas, and $55 (+tx&sc) after Christmas. These
photo-passes grant access to all nine events on the quay, and allow holders to skip lineups.
