Handmade Type

For all the typography nerds out there, here’s a fun one for you.

Tienmin Liao is student at the Prat Institute with no shortage of interesting ideas, the most recent one being Handmade Type.

Drawing shapes onto one or both of her hands (that can’t have been an easy task) she then manipulates her hand gestures in order to show an upper-case letter.

So far, so good right?

But then, without redrawing any new shapes on her hands, she manipulates her gestures once more to transform the upper-case letter into it’s lower-case counterpart. She sometimes even ventured into italics and hand written cursive letters.
