Frank Ocean “Pyramids” (Dir. by Nabil)

Our beloved Frank Ocean finally drops the visuals for “Pyramids”. As usual, Nabil gives it the treatment it deserves in this distorted, violent, sexual, trippy ass video taking place between the desert and a strip club. There are some hints of “Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas” with Frank tripping balls after drinking a few glasses of absinthe. Stripper’s faces distort from his perspective and on the outro of the song John Mayer himself emerges from a lit pyramid to give us a “video version” of his solo. A John Mayer guitar solo is always necessary. ALWAYS. I also appreciated that they opted to cut out the first half of the song because let’s be honest, the second half is way better (they probably did it for broadcasting purposes though).

All in all, Frank Ocean continues to confuse us and entertain us at the same (damn) time with his creative sidekick Nabil nailing the concept. Can’t wait for all the videos to drop for Channel Orange. Just no Brokeback Mountain shit please.
