Welcome to the coldest alphabet on Earth

The creation of each issue, thus far, has been a marathon. 36-hour work binges, the disappearance of weekends and social lives, recycling bins filled with Red Bull cans and coffee cups. I could be forgiven for thinking it wouldn’t get much worse, right? Or so I thought. As it turns out, they were only half-marathons, a warm-up. This issue is the full 42 kilometers. Our Vol. 06: Winter A-Z features one winter-themed article for every letter of the alphabet.

The good news? Nine interviews, twenty photoshoots, endless days of designing and coding, a 47-minute mixtape, a stimulating conversation video, and 26 articles later, here it is: our biggest, and proudest, volume to date.

We left the 2013 Canadian Online Publishing Awards focused and determined. Re-energized by the supportive feedback last month’s mini-issue received, we rolled up our sleeves and set out to make our first full-length release of 2014 really count. The goal was to set the tone for the new year and raise the bar another notch so that we could never look down again.

Without getting cocky, I think we pulled it off.

Not alone, far from: We worked with an abundance of new creatives who turned our idea into a full length issue. They have no idea how much our team appreciates their work and fresh vision. We also got to feature people and brands so interesting that they make 26 articles feel like a breeze to read through. But hey, I’m slightly bias.

Most of our gratitude goes to all of you reading this. We didn’t play by the rules, took some risks, continued to write a few #newrules, and you’re still here. Thank you for caring, thank you for reading, and we hope to inspire you the way you inspire us.

Cheers,

Leslie
