Having left my Christmas shopping until the last minute (this morning), I had to buy presents for my parents, my sisters and my brother-in-law in one fell swoop. Some of you may shy away from shopping under such pressure. You’ll end up buying your mum an electric power drill and you dad curling irons, because they were on offer and you couldn’t stand the insanity and desperation that lingers in the air like the aroma of eggs gone bad. Not me. I’m built for situations like that. Long queues mean nothing to me. Queuing is a national pasttime in the UK, anyway. I put Kool G Rap’s Dead Or Alive on the MP3 player and went to work. The whole lot was done in under an hour. Sure, I had to bodycheck a couple of people to get the last copy of Michael Palin’s New Europe for my pops, but it’s all in the game. The old lady’s insurance should cover her broken hip/ribs…

Since I’m in the giving mood right now, here’s a couple of things for visiting folks to enjoy….

The new Batman ‘Dark Knight’ Trailer. Leaked last week. It looks dope and Heath Ledger looks to be a complete psychophath as The Joker in it. It’s gotta be between this and Iron Man for ’08 comic book flick of the year, unless Zak Synder’s Watchmen can live up to the greatness of Alan Moore’s book. I’ve watched this trailer a bunch of times, now (No fanboy). OK – yes fanboy – I’m too excited about seeing this flick.
