It has now been a week since I set a new personal record for time spent being awake and functional. That would be a record set at 42 hours straight in total. I’d like to add that this was all done without any legal or illegal substances other than the limitless caffeine that (thankfully) comes along with running a café. I’m only human…
If you’re wondering why I would put myself through such hell, I have to admit it was actually done out of love. I worked for what seemed like an endless stretch of time for the soul purpose of seeing through a goal: putting together our 8th anniversary, #ATEyears Pop-Up Bake Shop event. As you likely know from following us on any of the social networks, or our lack of updates to the site was our way of celebrating our anniversary like no others. We wanted to get offline for a few days, and celebrate our success in the physical world.
For those who couldn’t make it out and weren’t able to see any of the incredibly enticing treats in person, here’s a small glimpse of what you’ve missed.
Sadly there are only a few shots. Our team was too busy serving up treats to snap pictures of all the guests that rolled through.
I’d like to also take the time to thank everyone that made this possible, to our staff on site, Lindsay, Sam, Andrew, Daniel, Serena, Fraser, Chris, Elke, Steph, Nat, Matt, David, Alex, Sarah and all our DJs, Psychology, F.U.N.K., Kyle Calma, Hatchmatik, Neon Tape Deck, Parvez Lakha, Evan C., Special K, Midas, D.R. One, Ruby Jane, Jake Sutherland, & DJ Mana.
And to our partners: Antoine Tavaglione, Chaz Desousa, Carrie-Ann, Waxhead, Societé Perrier, MTL Beer, Redbull Canada, Pink Pantry, le glacier Bilboquet, Léché, Dot & Lil, & Share The Warmth.
Just a tad more for those of you who missed out on the fun, a time-lapse of Tava & Waxhead at work.
Timelapse: It’s finally here from What's Really Good™ on Vimeo.
