Aunties & Uncles

Aunties & Uncles is the ultimate brunch spot for the late riser who curses those who restrict the consumption of eggs post 10:00am. This Toronto hot spot feeds the mouths of knowledgeable Torontonians, families and hipsters alike. Always busy and always a great atmosphere, it seems that people travel in packs to this place too, so tables are set up nicely for parties of 4. Note: you may see a line bypass if you travel in twos.

Arriving on a weekend expect to wait at least 30 minutes to get inside. The modest two story restaurant has 3 rooms, a central open style kitchen, a drink bar with no foyer space.  If the weather outside is poor, like on this occasion, expect to wait outside susceptible to the elements. The shoddy awning will protect you just enough to get you past the point of no return and decide to wait a bit longer for a table.

Only ancient texts will reveal the last time the menu was changed, but that’s whats makes it homey, right? You will find twists on breakfast favorites with additions of Mexican beans, cheeses, various vegetables and poached fruits. Daily specials add options and more selections to the already acclaimed menu.
