The promotional video on their website isn’t pushing the right competitive advantage. Bota Bota is a gem on our oh so picturesque Old Port waterfront. The architecture, designed by Sid Lee Architects, does do justice to the setting. Industrial yet luxurious, minimalist yet comfortable. The view undoubtably familiar, allows you to sit back, relax and take a brand new look at your city… But hold your breath! Here comes the cold bath.
On the first-timers tour, you are told that the three steps to heaven are: “hot-cold-relax,” which, while obeying them makes you think you haven’t learned anything from your mother, actually does you a lot of good.
Even those who are well acquainted with the spa-words-of-wisdom will find something to brag about to their friends the day after, be it the lounging in the portholes, or tanning on a much better deck then the poolside at Terasse de LaMontagne.
The spa even has something to offer for those socialites among us who don’t leave the house without an invite. “Urban drift” sees the beautiful and the damned sipping their wine barely clothed, dipping themselves in the salutatory waters to the sounds of a DJ. I mean… who would not want to see a handsome 30-something in his striped speedo lavishly tasting his truffle parmigiano beef tartar in the hot tub right next to them?
Don’t forget maillot et sandales de plages!!!
