Infused Alcohol

A how-to for simple and full flavoured home-brews

When it comes to alcohol, we’ve seen it all. Homebrewed beer, Caesars piled high with crab legs and mini burgers, the rise of the mason jar, the quest to find perfect rock ice cubes for your single malt whiskeys, it seems in the world of liquor we’ve left no stone unturned.

Artisanal libations and handcrafted brews have given way to the rise of custom-made, infused liquors. No longer are patrons searching for the artificial flavourings commonly seen on the shelves of our local liquor stores. Recently, bartenders and mixologists have been known to dabble, infusing vodkas, bourbons and tequilas, but now we are taking this practice out of the bar and into your kitchen. Here are three tasty recipes that will surely impress and excite any guests coming over for a drink or dinner.

Sweet & Spicy Whisky

¼ cup of honey
1 medium cinnamon stick
1 Habanero pepper
Lemon zest
1 ½ oz of water
1 cup of whisky
